
Growing custom-shaped packaging inserts from agricultural waste and mycelium as a fully compostable alternative to expanded polystyrene.
This project grew protective packaging shapes using hemp husk substrate inoculated with mycelium. The resulting material has comparable compressive strength to EPS foam and fully composts within 45 days.
